Rabita Islamic News Agency (RINA) renders its services through its following activities and organs

1. Latest Islamic News

This service of the Agency provides latest Islamic news to Urdu, Arabic and English newspapers published in and outside the country as well as to the media. This service specifically caters to the needs of dailies and the mass media. The service sends news items under its Urdu title “TazahIslamiKhabrain” to Urdu newspapers, under its Arabic title “Al-anba al Islamiyah alaajilah’ to Arabic newspapers and under its English title “Urgent Islamic News” to the English newspapers and other media. Presently no periodicity has been specified for the dispatch of news. However, the service releases its bulletins twice a day in general.

2. Akhbare-AalameIslami (Weekly Urdu Bulletin)

This printed weekly Urdu bulletin is sent by mail to a large number of journalistic institutions and journalists. Generally it has no membership. Due emphasis is given in the bulletin to the coverage, through translation, of reports, analysis and write-ups relevant to Islam appearing particularly in Arabic and English newspapers and magazines published from the Islamic world, to which international news agencies do not pay attention either advertently or inadvertently but they have particular significance and utility from humanitarian or Islamic point of view. The bulletin normally avoids the coverage of Indian events. This service is also available on the website of the Agency. The Agency, through special issues of this bulletin, offers to the embassies of different countries its paid services on the occasions of their National Days.

3. Al-Islam wa al Muslimoon fi-al-hind

This is a fortnightly bulletin of the Agency published presently on the internet. It is available only on the Agency’s website. This fortnightly bulletin is also published in English under the title of “Islam and Muslims in India

4. Arabic Monthly al-Rabitah al Islamiyyah

This is a monthly magazine in the Arabic language published so far on offset. But now it is being published only on the internet. However, efforts are being made to revive its paper print. Writers and readers may send their articles for publication in the magazine on commissioned and non commissioned basis.

5. Publication of Pictures

The Agency also disseminates pictures of conferences, conventions, seminars, meetings and personalities.

6. Advertisements and Appeals

(i) The commercial office of the Agency publishes on special discounts the introduction, advertisements and appeals from milli organizations, groups, religious institutions and academies on the Agency’s website.

(ii) The commercial office of the Agency also accepts advertisements for the Agency’s website and newspapers on nominal charges and commission.

Free Services

The Rabitah Islamic News Agency (RINA) sends for publication news items, reports, analysis, commentaries as well as academic, cultural and political articles and write-ups to newspapers and magazines through its different services free of charge. However, the selection of publishable material and mode of its dispatch and publication will be determined by the editors of the Agency. For those who desire to get their matter published according to their own selection and preference, the Agency offers a paid service.

Spheres of Free Services

In order to provide its free services, the Agency has divided the press into three spheres so that the news items are dispatched and distributed according to their nature and utility.

1. Local or Regional Press

This press means widely circulated newspapers published from a particular place and area whose readership is confined to that area itself.

2. National Press

This press means a number of widely circulated newspapers published from different parts of the country. If a news item is given space in any of these newspapers, it is understood that the news has been published throughout the country. The agency sends to these newspapers such items that may have countrywide significance and utility.

3. International Press

This press stands for the Islamic news agencies, print and electronic media, Arabic, English and Urdu newspapers that are published outside India from different countries out side India, The Agency provides such news agencies, media and news papers with news and reports of international importance and utility.

Note: In India, the free news service of agency is generally provided to Urdu news papers at present.

Paid Services

To popularize the usefulness and acceptance of their matter, some groups, institutions or personalities feel that their news items or a journalistic, academic or literary matter is dispatched to the newspapers and magazines published from anywhere in and outside the country according to their own selection and preference. Similarly, there are organizations who receive, or want to receive in the future, donations from foreign nations in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Government of India and deem it necessary that their donors and patrons become aware of religious, spiritual, educational, academic and reformistic efforts, projects and contributions of their institution through an independent, impartial and reliable organ so that these activities become a source of greater confidence and gratification for them. For such organizations or personalities, the Agency offers paid journalistic services by preparing, editing, translating, composing and dispatching the matter to their selected national or foreign newspapers on modest charges.

Ways to get the paid services

  1. Visit the Agency office to present your matter to the Manager / Editor. Get a bill prepared and pay it up.
  2. Send the matter to the Agency through fax alongwith a note explaining that the news or the article is to be published against payment and that you take the responsibility for paying the charges for the same. Also, make it clear that the fee for publishing a news or article is being sent by hand/ by money order and it will be received by the Agency within fifteen days.Please make sure telephonically whether the matter you faxed to the Agency had been received in good shape.
  3. Send your matter through registered post/ speed post/ E-mail and send the draft/ cheque for its fee through post.
  4. Hand over the matter with the prescribed fee to the Field Manager approaching you and get the receipt instantly by paying the fee in cash/ by draft/by cheque.
  5. In case a bill is not paid within a specified period, the commercial office of the Agency will be free to take appropriate legal action.
